Choosing the right college is a hard task to do. You have to go through lots of steps. Like is it too big or too small; is the schooling program good? Now you start looking at OSU and you ask yourself “Why should you go to OSU?” In OSU you could get a campus job, that way you are never too far from classes or your dorm. Especially as a freshman you have to live on campus. They do it that way you can make friends,meet new people, and know where everything is. OSU also has the best homecoming in America . OSU’s homecoming is a tradition among alumni,fans of OSU,and students of OSU. It go’s to show if you have a connection or love for OSU when you went to school here, it doesn’t stop at graduation, it continues. If you are wondering if OSU has a good school system , it does , OSU is home to the first Ph.D. program in unmanned ariel system. Push go’s to shove OSU has your back on schooling! They also have more than 240,000 student graduate, and more than 35,000 students on campus. if your thinking to yourself ,”Hmm, I wonder how big the campus is?” well I am here to tell you! 1489 acres.

School food is it good or enough? Do you like the schools’ food;Is it gross? Do you think the school should give more food?For me to give a good idea of the schools thoughts I had to ask some students and teachers. I asked everyone the same question to see the different responses. Here’s my feed back. 

The first student is Donavan Cooper. Donavan doesn’t like the schools food, even if he did he says the portion size is too small. He does however like the salad and he eats the cereal here for breakfast sometimes. Donavan feels like off campus lunch would be so much better. He thinks it is banded because “someone died.” He would love if the school had a sushi bar and boba tea! “The food looks deathly” quoted Donavan to change the deathlyness of the food they should exchanged for pretzels.

Not all students eat the schools lunch , the teachers do to. I’m now moving on to Mrs.Smith. Somedays the schools food is good , and the size of the foods they give is just fine if the students eat the veggies. Mrs.Smith enjoys the chicken and potatoes here at Guthrie High School. She says they don’t allow off campus lunch because students will be tarty more and/or absent. Off campus lunch is a privilege not a right. She would eat at lunch more if the food wasn’t so processed and made with artificial ingredients. To make the schools food more heathy she believes that if the salad bar was  to be bigger with more options students will eat it more. 

Last but not least is Bailey Leal! The food here makes her stomach hurt. The portion of food they give is perfect, her favorite food here is tater tots,if they served Chinese food here should would probably eat here more then she does, for a heathly exchange in food the school should serve baked chicken,steamed veggies and less greasy pizza. As for off campus lunch she says if you have a license and sign a form that says time you left and time u came back then it is your responsibility. Most of the seniors here are 18 any how. She believes off campus lunch is non existent because people don’t come back or do stupid things and get caught.

So what I have concluded is that the schools food is overly processed and that is why it has a bad taste. If the school was to switch up something’s it would have almost the students or all eat it. 

Have you ever wondered what you are going to do over spring break? Well I can help with that! Here is my top 10 things to do during spring break.

1. Visit the lake.

2. Talk to friends, have friends over.

3. Go to party’s.

4. You can’t go wrong with omegle, meet new people. (Don’t omegle)

5. Have a small get together with a couple friends. (Not a party)

6. Shop with your friends or family.

7. Visit family that you have not seen in a while.

8. Go on a date.

9. Watch movies on Netflix.

10. Bake or cook, try it with friends it’s always more fun with friends.

These are just a couple of things I did during my spring break. There’s a world of other things you do and explore. Open your mind and enjoy the world. Sitting at home and relaxing is always fun but getting out there and doing things is even more fun!

Narrative paint rave 
On Friday they announced the annual paint rave and the following day at 8 pm the paint rave started everyone wore white or neon, some people even wore shower caps so the paint wouldn’t get in their hair ,because if it was to get in your hair. Oh I am telling you it will be hell trying it out, and people also put their phones in baggies so their phone wouldn’t get pain in them,those people were really smart… I wanted to know what people thought of this years paint rave so I asked a couple people.Here’s Allie with her thoughts. I first asked her if she had fun and what would she rate it, she said yes it was fun and the fate was a 5. Allie would change the timing ,because it was too cold! If allie had to describe it to someone who never went she would tell them “you go out there and get paint thrown at you” and “that it gets in your hair and mouth and no one cares”I then asked Kelsey the same questions and this is what she gave me she did have fun and she would rate it a astonishing 6! She would tell people to wear a mask so the paint would t get in your hair. She would tell you that the paint rave would have good music,but the paint is very sticky, its crowded with people, extremely cold,and lights shinning all over you.The paint rave could still use a little help but over all it was so much fun! Next year count me in! I will defiantly go! I just have to make sure to crab my shower cap and baggie for my phone!

A tan car was in flames Tuesday morning. Cops were already at the sene and fire trucks were on the way. The cars flames was about 5 feet into the air. The driver was taking his/her child to school on Guthrie’s west side. The driver and child escaped before the fire could engulf the engine. When fire fighter arrived it took them approximately 30 min to stop the fire. They have yet to find out what caused the fire but it is good to know the 2 are safe. 

Soft news#1 the reason why nursing homes go down.

The reasons why nursing homes go down is because of mismanagement. There is a low reimbursement rate for medicaid ,which is a state insurance that reimburses at a rate of approximately $141 per day. Some of the residents in nursing homes require a lot of help and facilities can’t afford to hire extra then what the state requires ,or pay better for what residents need. Regulations on nursing homes in Oklahoma are extremely strict and can have very high fines and penalties if not followed exactly. It’s also becoming more and more difficult to find caring and experienced staff that’s willing to work hard and do their job correctly.

-HOW TO IMPROVE

This is how my dad improves his facilities. He first goes through finances and checks for inconsistency and waste bought then cuts out everything that’s not needed. He holds each of the department head accountable for each department; nursing, housekeeping, maintenance, dietary, and therapy. He makes sure their not wasting supply’s or money, holding them to their budgets. Following staffing labor details and cutting back on excess hours will reduce over time expenses. Having good relations with residents and family’s will make them want to stay. Making sure all accounts are up to date and paid in full. another thing my dad does is to make sure his relations are good with discharge planners, doctors ,and hospitals that will get him new referrals. By reducing cost, collecting revenue ,building census ,and following rules and regulations you get a facility that can make money.

Moana is a 2016 film produced by Walt Disney animation studios, directed by Ron Clements and John Musker,and starring Auli’i Cravalho and Dwayne Johnson. Moana child’s icon, that give children a different prospective on that not every Disney “princess” is white and wears fancy dresses and falls in love with a king. Moana tells a story about how to follow your heart and not let anyone get in the way. She shows her independence and care for the environment. Moanas was born on a small island. Her father was the chief and she was chief to be. Her father always told her don’t go in or near the ocean but she had a strong pull to it.  Her grand mother told her the island story and she also told Moana the ocean has chose her to find Muai and restore Taheti’s heart had put a “curse” on all the islands to die and her island was next. She set sail to find the demigod Muai and force him to help. He shows Moana how he did all these life changing things and how the world was created just for humans. On their journey they learn how to help each other and get along. Muai even shows her how to sail the ocean and navigate by using stars.

Ever walk down the hall in high school and just hear people talking about another person? It gets annoying. I hate school drama and if you’re anything like me you’re like any other high school student ,but it seems that even if you say that you’re either involved in school drama or caused the school drama. I want to state my thoughts and a couple of other people’s thoughts on this. I thought asking people of all positions in school, teacher student, and principal would help show and tell the way everyone views school drama.

To me school drama is a waste of time. There’s no point. For example, “your eye brow is ugly.” Who cares what they think or say it’s yours and I bet tons of others would love to have your brows. Arguing over this will only cause stress and make you miserable. Guess what? You won’t ever see these people again! If you’re the cause of drama you’re making this school or any other school more stressful then it has to be. Drama won’t make you happy; drama won’t make you a better person. Drama will only make you miserable. The drama is probably over something stupid or irrelevant anyways.

Mr. Stone says he has to get involved with student’s drama at least 2 or 3 times a day and 95% is female related. Drama typically starts right after the weekend and is starts from technology. Girls and boys like to hide behind their phones and talk about each other. They do it behind screens so they don’t get interrupted or scared; they do it behind screens so they can get it out and say what they need to. If we were to take away phones, crush them, burn them, and then dig a hole and bury them, then school drama almost wouldn’t exist. Now obviously it won’t stop fully because rumors will start and other things will happen, but it wouldn’t be as much drama happening.

I ask Tiffany Smith about her thoughts and she tells me drama is started over person A calling person B out and/or confronting person B over something that was said to person A. She says “drama is dumb” and “there’s just too many fakes in this world”.

I then asked Mrs.Smith and she told me that she hated school drama as a teen, she avoided it as much as possible and under any circumstance she would not get involved. As a teacher, however, she helps teens out with their school drama. “Students need to realize in the long run it’s not that important.” Realizing that will prevent school drama. She tells students to stop and think about if it’s really that important; is this going to make me happier person? Mrs.Smith loves helping teens, but she rather there be no drama.

The final person I asked is a anonymous source. The source stated “On school drama I always kept everything to myself.” If he talked about someone they would only talk about them to one of their closest friends. To prevent school drama “you should know when to walk away” and “what not to do in a bad situation” said the source. No one came to this person for drama help because he didn’t like to be involved. “It’s always good to know and see everything that’s happening, but to just keep it to yourself and not tell a soul.”

Think of a world without drama; think of how much better the world would be. Next time drama starts stop and walk away; stop and don’t continue the drama that is happening. Drama is not everything,and it’s not gunna stop the world from spinning. Stoping drama with make the world better and happier. It starts with you stoping.

Donavan Abbreal Cooper is a 16 year old boy who go’s to Guthrie high. At first glance you would think hot boy I wanna date him. One problem with that. Unless you are a boy Donavan will not want to be with you. Yes Donavan is gay. I have asked him a couple questions over his life and how his days go and this is what he gave me. His life was a okay life it was at no means a bad life but it wasn’t a perfect life. He is glad that being “gay” is socially acceptable, yes there’s still people out there who don’t like gays but they don’t bother donavan at all. I asked him what his thought was on gay marriage and he said “idk if I’ll ever really get married but I’m happy that the people that want to can” He was about 12 when he knew he was gay, and his parents “they didn’t really care.” His parents going out when he was in the 7th grade and nothing between then changed. Now he has dated girls but it didn’t feel right so he went to boys. Now days walking down the hall is normal with his boyfriend Dakota. Him and his boyfriend are perfectly happy as of now but donavan says he dosnt see them together in the future. He has experience the gay life and he is perfectly happy being gay.
